Lena was discovered in 1973, and won Opportunity Knocks five times in 1974. She went on to tour the US and Japan, and have a sucessful career in the UK. She was plagued with anorexia from about the age of 13, and had an operation in 1999 to cure her depression, unfortunately she died from complications. Her memory is kept alive by my youtube channel and website which has been running since the year 2000.

I am so pleased that Lena is still remembered and always will be.
Her beautiful soulful singing voice creates many a tear and her smiling face throughout her career will be remembered by all who watched and knew her.
Born the same year as Lena and seeing her sing on Junior Showtime in Leeds as a child i grew up seeing her on TV and often at Yorkshire Television Studios in Leeds in which i lived opposite in the 70s.
Lena Zavaroni is a legend in her own right and fans will always keep her soul alive xxx
Lena will always be remembered
Lena was a big part of my life, since 1974. I have always loved her, and was lucky to meet her 5 times, I decided to start my website in the year 2000, not long after she died. She is missed, but always remembered with fondness when I am watching her on dvd or listening to her cd's. I have made many friends (some famous)! through running my website, and it is a pleasure to have such support from these people. I will always keep Lena's memory alive, she deserves that much!
